Adnan SARWAR, BSc, MBA (Marketing), has been a Richmond resident since 2009. He arrived in Canada in 2003 as a new immigrant from London, where he worked as an investment banker with Merrill Lynch, and later with Scotiabank in Canada.

In 2009 he transitioned into education and has taught business, marketing, and hospitality at various public and private colleges and universities in the Vancouver area, including the University of British Columbia and University Canada West. Over 17 years he has mentored thousands of students into successful careers in industry.

On the community side, Adnan volunteers as a Sunday School teacher at a local Buddhist temple, serves on his strata council, and is an active member of the Greater Vancouver Bangladesh Cultural Association of BC (GVBCA) and the Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei Cultural Association (MSBCA) in Richmond. He is also an avid cricket and pickleball player and has trained in three styles of martial arts under Karate Sensei Kazi Qais and Tae Kwon Do Master Al Azizi.

For the past decade he has mentored CEOs, founders, and C-suite executives in Education Technology (EdTech), Financial Technology (FinTech), and Biomedical Technology (MedTech) startups across Vancouver and Richmond.

Earlier in his career he worked with 2006 Nobel Peace Prize winner Dr. Muhammad Yunus, the microcredit pioneer who helped 10 million of the poorest women in Bangladesh become entrepreneurs and who currently serves as Chief Adviser of Bangladesh. In 2025 Dr. Yunus was named one of Time magazine's 100 Most Influential People in the World. From that association Adnan learned the enduring importance of "working with the most committed" and that the impact of education on a person's life is permanent.

Adnan is a family man whose daughter has attended school in the Richmond School District for the past twelve years. That lived experience fuels his commitment to serving as a School Board Trustee with the WE ARE RICHMOND team in the 2026 election.

列治文教育局學務委員候選人

沙德南 Adnan SARWAR（理學士、市場營銷工商管理碩士）自2009年起定居列治文。他於2003年從英國倫敦移民加拿大，當時任職於美林證券，其後加入加拿大豐業銀行擔任投資銀行家。

2009年，他轉投教育界，於溫哥華地區多所公立及私立院校教授商業、市場營銷及酒店管理，包括卑詩省大學及加拿大西部大學。十七年來，他已輔導數千名學生成功投身業界。

在社區方面，Adnan 於本地佛教寺廟擔任主日學老師，並出任所住物業的業主委員會委員。他同時活躍於大溫哥華孟加拉文化協會（GVBCA），以及列治文的馬來西亞、新加坡、汶萊文化協會（MSBCA）。他也是板球及匹克球愛好者，並曾跟隨空手道師傅Kazi Qais及跆拳道大師Al Azizi學習三種不同的武術。

過去十年，他一直在溫哥華及列治文指導教育科技（EdTech）、金融科技（FinTech）及生物醫學科技（MedTech）初創企業的首席執行官、創辦人及高階主管。

早年，他曾與2006年諾貝爾和平獎得主穆罕默德·尤努斯博士共事。尤努斯博士以小額信貸幫助孟加拉1,000萬最貧困婦女成為企業家，現任孟加拉首席顧問，並於2025年獲選為《時代》雜誌全球100位最具影響力人物之一。從這段經歷中，Adnan深刻體會到「與最有決心的人共事」的重要性，以及教育對人生影響的永久價值。

Adnan 是一位家庭男人，他的女兒已在列治文學區就讀十二年。這份親身經歷，驅使他決心以「WE ARE RICHMOND」團隊成員身份，競選2026年列治文教育局學務委員，為孩子們的未來貢獻力量。
